Dashboard Templates
The Excel Dashboard Toolkit
A collection of files that help you learn Excel's design features and capabilities
What Is It?
You get XLSX files with 125 charts (25 designs in 5 different color palettes) along with design guides, shape styles and color palettes. Deconstruct each file to learn new dashboard concepts in Excel.
Time Saving
Making your dashboards look clean & professional takes a REALLY long time. We make it far easier to learn visual design features by giving you a wide range of sample files to deconstruct and learn from.
Visual Design Matters
I learned a critical lesson when building dashboards for Google, Microsoft and Philips -- visual design is critical for getting people to use your dashboard or data visualization project.
You don't need to be an expert. Anyone can do it. The toolkit uses no plug-ins or custom coding. It teaches you how to use Excel's built-in design features for maximum impact.
Here's what you will get in the toolkit files
This toolkit is for you if...
You're just getting started in Excel or you're a seasoned expert.
The underlying techniques are actually quite simple - but I've also included some advanced examples of charts as well. All of them include sample data to help you understand how they are structured.

The idea is for you to deconstruct and pull apart each element so you understand how it's built. I've found this is one of the fastest and most effective ways to learn and improve your Excel design skills.

FAQ
Will this work with my version of Excel?
This toolkit is designed for Excel 2016 but 80+% of the charts & dashboard elements are compatible with Excel 2010 and later versions. This is not intended for older versions of Excel or for the online version of Excel but some elements will carry over.
Can I use this if I'm an Excel beginner?
Short answer: Probably.
Long answer: you need to be able to read basic english, format your data as columns, copy charts, select data for a chart, change colors for chart elements... if all that sounds familiar you'll probably be okay.
When will you release a light colored theme?
If we sell enough versions of the dark theme we will release a light theme. [update: I've started the light theme]
What format is the toolkit?
The toolkit is a large Excel file (≈30mb) with 25 chart designs in 5 colors (125+ charts) along with various page elements and sample dashboards.
Does the dashboard toolkit get updated?
After you download the Excel file you can sign up for email updates. When we release new charts/designs you will receive a download link with any new chart designs.
Can this toolkit be used for training?
Yes! This is a great way to level-up your team's Excel dashboard design skills without having to put them through an expensive or time-intensive class.
